What is Weather?

It is the specific condition of the atmosphere at a particular place and time. It is measured in terms of such things as wind, temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, and precipitation. In most places, weather can change from hour to hour, day to day, and season to season.

Climate is the average of weather over time and space. A simple way of remembering the distinct difference is that 'climate' is what you expect and 'weather' is what you get.

Weather: Beautiful and Dangerous

Weather can behold extreme beauty, at the same time it can be deadly and destructive. It is up to you to protect yourself from it.

Each and every one of us is affected at one point or another by severe weather. Depending on where you live, you may experience hurricanes, tornados, hail, blizzards, and other weather hazards or even a combination of hazards.

The best way to stay safe is to be familiar with the hazards that impact you by knowing how to prepare, how to react, and what to expect.

Our number 1 goal is to inform, educate, and raise awareness about these hazards.
